Winter, Again

It's been cold this winter, even here in the south. But, the weather is fairly bipolar, and it's supposed to get into the mid 70s next week, which means I will have opportunities to be shirtless. But, as usual, I have seasonal hesitation. The last time it was warm-ish, I felt it. I go through it every spring. This year, however, it's time to just do it. Period. All one has to do to look like a confident shirtless guy is to take off your shirt. I will heed that advice.  Some great TikToks: Sander Jennings: He is always shirtless and there are videos explaining it: https://www.tiktok.com/@sander_jennings?lang=en Bruno Baba: Same: https://www.tiktok.com/search?lang=en&q=bruno%20baba&t=1740143006793 https://www.youtube.com/@BrunoBaba It's great to see others living the lifestyle.

Just Pics

Image
I don't really have anything to say today; I am just posting pics of shirtless musicians because there is never a reason not to. Brendan Urie - Reliable.  This guy is in a band, but they don't perform shirtless. I just think he's hot.  Gavin Rossdale in 1999.  Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons. I don't think he ever performs with a shirt on.  Charlie Puth. Lukas Graham. Pretty much always. Benson Boone, who I have discussed before.  And more Ross Lynch, because fucking hell.  We need more of this, but luckily, it's pretty common, and I'm not mad about it.

Building Confidence

There are several benefits of being shirtless, both physical and psychological. Here are some of them: Increased vitamin D absorption: When you’re shirtless, your skin is exposed to sunlight, which helps your body produce vitamin D. Vitamin D is essential for strong bones, healthy immune function, and overall well-being1. Improved sleep quality: Sleeping shirtless can help regulate your body temperature and improve the quality of your sleep. Reduced risk of skin irritation: Wearing tight or restrictive clothing can cause skin irritation and rashes. Going shirtless can help reduce the risk of these issues3. Increased self-esteem: Being shirtless in public can help you feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin. It can also help you overcome body image issues and insecurities1. Better workout performance: Going shirtless during a workout can help keep your body cool and prevent overheating. This can help you perform better and for longer periods of time4. Saves money: Not havin...

Why I Like Being Shirtless, and Winter Sucks

Shirtlessness is one of my favorite subjects, in case you haven't figured it out. There are many reasons to be shirtless: 1) We're men, and we are allowed 2) Comfort. Who wants a sticky, sweaty shirt? The air feels good on your skin 3) It exudes masculinity 4) it exudes confidence 5) It is, or can be, sexy. I like doing it for those reasons, and more. It's a thrill for me, and a confidence booster. As I've indicated before, I still have hesitations, especially around women, although I have more or less conquered my hesitation around driving (my car, my rules) and being outdoors.  Seeing other shirtless guys is intoxicating to me, especially if it is in unexpected places. Seeing them on the beach is fine. Seeing them driving is terrific. Seeing them in a business is next level, and my hesitation disappears when I see a shirtless guy going into a business.  I want to be that guy who takes his shirt off without hesitation and doesn't GAF who sees him or what anyone th...

More Shirtless Role Models

Image
Just wanted to give some love to some more shirtless role models. PJ of Property Lovers (PJ and Thomas) - he's shirtless at least once in every video, and this one explains why: https://youtu.be/2xd13_FtvoE?si=7lYSCz_hoVVDylyq Cole Barnhill - I hadn't heard of him until recently.  Benson Boone isn't averse: This guy played a shirtless manager in a prank. Bad ass.  Sander Jennings - He explains in this video why he is always shirtless: https://www.tiktok.com/@sander_jennings/video/6951917408676236549 Good on these guys. I'm looking for more, but we need to see more of this.

The End of Summer

Image
After my extremely successful shirtless summer, I hate that outdoor shirtless opportunities are few and far between. It is currently warm where I live, so at least there is that.  One thing that I am missing is a shirtless buddy. There are safety in numbers, and it's also a bonding experience. I feel much better if there is another shirtless person around - indeed, when I went to the local grocery by the beach, I followed a shirtless guy in. The same with a gas station also. When I see a shirtless guy go into a business, I don't hesitate to follow. One thing I am working on is my issue with being shirtless around women. I don't know why that is a thing, but it is. I have been forcing myself to go into the shops where I know women are present. I have literally no problem if there are only men around. Interestingly, I have heard several people say that they have had more problems with men than women when they enter businesses. I haven't had that issue.  I was out of town...

My Shirtless Summer. You Can Have One Too.

Image
This has been a monumental summer for my shirtless journey. Living near a beach town definitely helps.  The past few months I have become completely comfortable being shirtless outdoors. I have also gone into businesses, including: A local grocery store: A liquor store: Bars: Shops. Note the other shirtless guy. Gas stations: Driving: I've really come a long way. Even a few years ago, this was unthinkable. I was extremely self-conscious, especially around women, and I have a horror of being confronted. I've learned that most people honestly don't give a shit and don't think about you as much as you think.  I'm proud of myself for conquering my fears and allowing myself to be vulnerable. I am also proud of the fact that I am accepting my body as it is.  As men, shirtlessness is a privilege, and we ought to take advantage of it. We need to claim our masculinity (not toxic masculinity, healthy masculinity) and our body image. We need to normalize shirtlessness everywh...
