Why I Like Being Shirtless, and Winter Sucks
Shirtlessness is one of my favorite subjects, in case you haven't figured it out. There are many reasons to be shirtless:
1) We're men, and we are allowed
2) Comfort. Who wants a sticky, sweaty shirt? The air feels good on your skin
3) It exudes masculinity
4) it exudes confidence
5) It is, or can be, sexy.
I like doing it for those reasons, and more. It's a thrill for me, and a confidence booster. As I've indicated before, I still have hesitations, especially around women, although I have more or less conquered my hesitation around driving (my car, my rules) and being outdoors.
Seeing other shirtless guys is intoxicating to me, especially if it is in unexpected places. Seeing them on the beach is fine. Seeing them driving is terrific. Seeing them in a business is next level, and my hesitation disappears when I see a shirtless guy going into a business.
I want to be that guy who takes his shirt off without hesitation and doesn't GAF who sees him or what anyone thinks. You know, the guy you see confidently doing it.
I also wouldn't mind being the always shirtless guy. I live near a beach community, and there is a guy there who I have literally never seen wearing a shirt. I stopped him one day and asked him if I could go into a liquor store shirtless, and he said it was ok. The guy is confident af.
On another topic, it's almost winter, and I hate it. I hate the cold and am less tolerant of it as I get older. And while it doesn't get that cold here in the south, it still sucks, and it's definitely too cold to go shirtless much of the time. We have warm spells, so I take advantage of them, but it doesn't seem like anyone else does. The beach community nearby is dead this time of year as well.
At this point, it's limited to being inside, mostly (or always) at home.
Finally, I feel that seasonal hesitation is already creeping in. I think part of it is that it is December, and I'm worried that it looks weird doing it this time of year. I don't know. I'm just bummed that we have three more months of this.
